We want to send our carrier groups through the Red Sea. The Houthis send a shitton of drones at our ships just like they are doing now, and we are forced to use hundreds of SAMs to shoot them down, just like we are doing now.
So we exit the Red Sea and our ships no longer have nearly enough SAMs to fight the Chinese. How will the Houthis be wished out of existence in that scenario? |

You may be surprised to learn that what was shared with Ukraine was primitive cold war surplus with the exception of a pair of Patriot systems |

There has not been a peep from them about asking for anti-drone EW capability from the US because it DOES NOT EXIST. In fact, the Russians are well ahead of us on EW, and yet Ukraine still destroys most of its equipment with drones.
Now I'm sure you have a reason that you are totally convinced about as to how the US military has a secret weapon against drones that we didn't use against the Houthis and if that makes you feel better then carry on. |

They definitely need a range of solutions (from cheap to sophisticated) to deal with drones. I don't think the Houthis or Iran accomplished much despite us being extremely restrained in any strikes. Missile defense gets a bad rap but it's basically saved Israel over the past 20 years and allowed most UKR cities to function relatively normal despite being bombarded by the world's second largest stockpile of missiles.
