That's stupid. I saw some of those idiotic debates, but who cares? It just takes an extra 20 seconds to scroll past some of the lengthy posts that argue about stupid shit. Overall, the blog was very useful, especially since it provided contemporaneous information.

It would make sense for the mods to do it the other way around. That is, allow all comments, then maybe 3 times a day go through the site and extract out the crap (e.g. 11th Cir. blog). Still would retain vitality and it would probably be less work for the mods.
