First of all, it was genuinely delicious. It came with a whole setup of 4 corn tortillas, rice, charro beans, and then cilantro fresh chopped onions, and some stuff looking like shredded cabbage and sprouts. The birria beef was on point with 4 large chunks of shoulder roast in a whole thing of braising liquid. I left stuffed.

For $17 it was 9000x better than anything on offer at Jersey Mike’s, which with everyone stumbling over the Hobart, takes about just as long to slow braise beef in fragrant and flavorful broth.

there's no chance you left "stuffed" from food portioned for a normal sized adult. How many additional meals did you stop for on the way home?

I looked at the lunch menu and went with the birria beef. This is what they brought out. It was a ton of food and it was $17. So after tip and tax and all that it was like $22. I had a water to drink.

This is the same price as a Jersey Mike's sub, but I dare say it tasted far better, was way faster, more complex, and left me feeling like "okay, yeah, that was some cooking worth paying for" as opposed to thinking "For $20, I can go through my refrigerator myself."
