can you re-verb a noun that was originally a verb?

like say 'compute' is transed from verb to noun, could you then evolve the noun to a verb -- 'verb' the noun -- but as a completely etymologically new, third word.

Say it begins like this:
We need to compute the trajectory. (where compute means calculate)
Then this transitions to: This run needs a lot of compute. (compute here is a noun meaning computational resources).
Then eventually: We computed the hell out of that benchmark. (where this verb version doesn't mean calculate but instead means threw computational resources at it)
