Let's go Trump. Make debt unaffordable again.

I'm still hoping for 5% for Christmas!

who cares how many people were looking for work in the last four weeks.

the LFPR is at its lowest point since women started entering the workforce in a major way... and probably far worse because we had a bigger military and smaller prison population back then.

lol prices are already down 20% in many markets. housing sales have been stuck at 30 year lows and fewer sales today than in 2008/2009.

It needs a tip of forced selling and I think you will see double digit declines in housing prices. Clearly the current prices do not reflect what people will pay, but also only reflect what sellers will accept given the comfort of time. I assume higher rates --> recession --> forced selling. Its happened many times before in history...

The median home sale price within the city limits of Austin, Texas, ranges from roughly $540,000 to $577,000, showing a slight year-over-year decline of about 1% to 4% and sitting roughly 24% lower than the historic peak in May 2022

interest rates dont build more homes.

yes. When we hit 5%. Then it tricked back down to 4%, now back up to 5%.

It has been a positive for the US economy. Stopped the unstable housing price growth, kneecapped PE firms into actually trying to create value rather than using financial engineering to create "value."

But then the Fed/elites didnt allow the free market to work (it should only work against those with assets) so then the Fed started buying assets and going on a spending spree again to prop up values and hence we got a slight correction, but not a meaningful one. Now its round 2 and I don't think the govt has the ability to buy it way out now.
