There's just no way that a competent brief-writer can possibly extract that level of improvement over baseline from AI.

For a weak user AI might replace some deficits that's not my point. My point is that this does not generalize to open ended cognition. When AI allows for cognitive offloading and quick high level synthesis and exploration for an already high IQ knowledgeable user (not for law, not for specific narrow "jobs), their effective intelligence quickly scales into superhuman levels. Notice how we have people at Open AI labs quickly solving Erdos problems, something that took the highest IQ humans a lifetime of learning and research to do? of course the training data is a relevant and important part of the equation. agentic LLM systems will become better and better at different tasks as they're post-trained by specific data sets for different tasks. that's already how they've gotten way better at stuff like coding |
