depends on what law school you get into
Btw, how sure are you of your progression in consulTTTing

It would be a t13 if I go
Not sure man. It's not hard work, just tedious and a bit mind numbing

Start the in-house salary at 250
Also assume four years of biglaw

not everyone gets biglaw

Only T5 gets anywhere close to that.
CLS: 79.2%
CHI: 82.7%
NYU: 68.1%
https://www.lstreports.com/compare/columbia/chicago/nyu/
Note, 155 NYU 2015 grads didn't get BL or FC. There aren't THAT many PI bleeding hearts at NYU. 155.
86 CLS 2015 grads walking away without BL or FC is also sickening. 86.
34 CHI 2015 grads getting blown out is OK.

What kind of consultant makes 112k at Sr. Mgr? Those titles sound like DeloiTTTe but the salaries are off.
Get into MBB and you'll be clearing 200k+ as a 2-3rd year and your exit ops are more like 250k+

his chance of biglaw right now is like 5%
if he takes the LSAT and gets a 170+, it probably jumps to 50%+
of course, he ist just gonna keep posting this for the next 3 years instead of taking the freaki nLSAT

TTT.
No accounting for chances of failure and success.
No accounting for consequences of failure. Failed consulting to law (or something else) is possible. If you fail at law, you're dog food -- the cheap Walmart brand.
No accounting for income/hour.

LOL NO:
ITT:
-A guy that thinks all MBA grads make 152k; thinks that copping MBB post-MBA isnt hard; that MBB jobs are more desirable than biglaw
-Poasters throwing around GULC despite my EXPLICIT declaration that I would not attend GULC
-Poasters assuming I would take out 250-300k in loans despite my EXPLICIT declaration that I would not attend LS at full sticker
-No one recognizing that GOVERNMENT CONSULTING HAS LITTLE TO NO EXIT OPPS/and is probably the most tttt of any "white collar" industry
-No one recognizing that LS would allow me to GTFO of DC
-No one recognizing that Law can ACTUALLY be interesting/useful in some life/career situations

you:
- assuming that getting into a competitive mba program is a probable outcome for you
- assuming that getting a job at mbb, some of the more prestigious businesses in the world, will be "easy" for you because some dude on the internet said these are not hard jobs to get
- assuming that, if you went through with the LS application process and received some acceptances but no good scholarships, you would have the wherewithal and clarity of mind to walk away from your acceptances rather than burden yourself with 250-300k in loans because your unbearable and insufferable angst will not let you walk away from your special little law school acceptance letter
- assuming that you will outgun all of the other gunner snowflakes at your law school and get biglaw
- assuming that it will go well
- assuming that you will get a well-paid in-house gig just like that out of biglaw and live happily ever after
you've simply cherrypicked a few nice-sounding nuggets from a thread which is overwhelmingly critical and belittling of your thinking.
underlying all of this is your denial that your life will proceed unto some unprestigious end, which conflicts with the mentality with which you were brought up, which tells you that you are special and must do something prestigious
even if you went to law, you would be disillusioned with it quickly, realize the financial outcome is not much better than what you would have had if you continued with what you have now, and realize that nobody thinks much the better of you for being a middling lawyer
you simply have to come to terms with the fact that society does not give a shit about 99.9999% of people, and that you will die and rot as an unremarkable bundle of cells which will be forgotten five years after you die - the same realization that the other 99.9999% of people on this earth must come to
but you can't let yourself do that yet because you think you're special, so you'll continue to draft contrived arguments and excel spreadsheets to justify going to law school, none of which are grounded in reality but which are simply the fruits of your continued grasping at straws, hoping to once and for all find something that tells you that yes, you can be something too - which you can't, and which 99.9999% of people can't.
the sooner you learn that, and the sooner you stop rationalizing your romantic hopes, the better.

ADDENDUM (and i reiterate that you are flame and have always been, but i will humor you):
your problem is also that you can't stop seeking validation because you have absolutely no sense of what you want in life and therefore spend your days begging others to tell you what is "the right thing to do"
the right thing to do is whatever you value in life
if you are honestly so vain that what you value in life is the superficial (and minuscule, probably nonexistent) prestige that comes along with being able to tell someone that you're a lawyer, then fucking do it (though i pity you if this is the case)
if you value something else, do something else
but at this point you're probably more knowledgeable about the factual pros and cons of going to law school than perhaps anyone in the history of the board
*your* problem is that you don't know how to give yourself a set of values and goals and how to be content and confident in them as your own.
one day you talk about going to law school. the next, continuing with your work. the next, moving to portland to become a bartender.
it is clear that you have absolutely zero vision of what you want your life to be, and lack the ability to think seriously about what *you* value and what *you* espouse in this life.
no more information is going to help you in deciding whether you should go to law school. you know the facts (though you appear to be in denial of some of them in hopes of justifying going to law school).
but you are clearly a hollow human being who has no sense of himself whatsoever and who is therefore forced to turn to sources of external validation for a sense of meaning in life.
and this is why you are so drawn to law - your life is meaningless now because you don't know how to give yourself meaning, and you think that pursuing some nice, socially-espoused white-collar profession might give you meaning again.
but you fail to see that the problem is not your profession now - it is *you* - because regardless of whether you are a lawyer or a mailman, you lack the ability to sense meaning in your life, and this will not change if you become a lawyer. you will still feel empty, just with fewer hours to yourself and more debt to pay.
either find meaning in something or admit that life is meaningless and stop grasping outside of yourself.

Listen to me closely. You will not get biglaw. Counting on that is ridiculous. Counting on that kind of in-house salary after three years of biglaw is ridiculous. Even if meant for flame and attention, if one part of your lizard brain hopes they are plausible, then your delusions are eventually going to overwhelm your rational judgment. You need to refasten yourself to reality before you slide over the edge. Persistent flame is often the result of latent desire.
You will likely end up at GW, eagerly pursuing GULC's night program transfer stats at every opportunity, your eye on the prize, such as it is. Then you will barely finish top 1/3 even though your classmates are mostly retards. That is because you are also not that smart and you likely don't have the drive to out-compete the true grinders. You have no idea what you're dealing with.
You will do nothing 1L summer. 2L summer you might get to clerk for free for a county trial court judge or break your ass at some pseudo-shitlaw insurance defense factory that doesn't have an actual hiring program. Or god help you, some bumfuck prosecutor's office where you will gain valuable experience aping the other knuckle-dragging $50K/yr junior prosecutors as you push paper on traffic infractions.
Maybe you bust your ass and game your course load after 1L. You become a citation slave on some awful secondary journal. You pad your resume with every dumbfuck clinic and useless student group your LS has to offer. 6 months post-graduation you might secure an entry-level gig at the Maryland AG's office dealing with assembly line health and social services cases. You will make $56K and live in some dystopian massive apartment complex in Silver Spring or wherever your god awful satellite office is located. You will be grateful and relieved for this job because it has healthcare and at least you're not prosecuting DUIs, churning out blue collar divorces, or most likely of all, fully unemployed. You will have minimum $150Kish in debt for your grand efforts and three wasted years. You will never make a great deal of money or achieve much as a lawyer. You will be on the wrong side of 40.
Go learn a trade if you want quality of life and decent money. 1/20 or worse that you even sniff biglaw or something nearly as lucrative at any time during your 'career.' You must get over yourself. You have nothing special to offer this industry, you probably don't have the stones for real trial work (most don't no matter what you think of yourself), and nobody gives a fuck about a late 30s consultant who only wants to be in the profession because he thinks it's going to pay him handsomely despite his total dearth of value.
Law schools are filled with people like you. Law schools are filled with miserable and unfulfilled people who all think they're precious and the world owes them something. Stop listening to the siren song of your own ego and think about what you actually want to do with the short amount of time you have left on this planet, you foolish, self-important little man.
Sincerely brother, I hope that helps. Don't do it. All you'll ever hear form me on the subject.

If he really has a 3.9, then he has a better chance of attending a decent school.
But I don't think a high GPA in genderqueer studies from Dartmouth or wherever is a strong predictor of success in law school. Grade inflation and relaxed standards is par for most non-STEM majors at Ivies. The sort of precocious academic skills that might get a 17 year old admitted to Brown don't really translate when he's dealing law school grinders and the handful of truly bright people in every class.
Also, frankly, don't entirely believe much of what peterman says about himself. 3.9 at X Ivy could very easily be 3.64 at Holy Cross, which means four months from now he'll start demanding that XO tell him $18K/yr at Tulane is a great investment.
