What's the alternative? No one has even proposed one, and SCOTUS will not sua sponte re-write the rules of naturalization, since that's a PLENARY power of Congress.
BTW that's another reason this is going nowhere. PLENARY POWER means the President has no say in this. He can fuck right off.
