After 5 years I can get citizenship. If I were to move to bulgaria and become a tax resident there while working for u.s. employer, I would actually pay slightly less tax. They tax 10% and in usa first 130k income is fiei, so I'd save a few pennies, but beyond that I would just pay the u.s. tax rate but part of it would go to bulgaria and part to usa.
But the whole point is that I could actually live anywhere in Europe while working for usa and get feie without filing any taxes in Europe, as long as I don't stay anywhere more than 6months. I.e. if I live 6months in Spain and 6months in Montenegro I just pay usa tax minus feie. |
