tyty, but i got the whole set for $35.
they're desperate to unload those fuckers on erev sukkot (sunday). as you know, they're totally worthless once the chag starts and there are dozens of other sellers lined up one after another on the street. it's a total buyer's market. i found a nice guy who agreed to a price and then let me dig thru his entire box of them and pick out the best one.
prob could have negotiated it for even less, but i was happy with my etrog.

torah says: "But on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you gather in the produce of the land, you shall celebrate the festival of the Lord for a seven day period; the first day shall be a rest day, and the eighth day shall be a rest day. And you shall take for yourselves on the first day, the fruit of the hadar tree, date palm fronds, a branch of a braided tree, and willows of the brook, and you shall rejoice before the Lord your God for a seven day period."
so we have this now: https://static.timesofisrael.com/www/uploads/2017/10/F171008YS14.jpg

ty.
ppl do all sorts of things.
the vast majority of ppl just throw them away.
some people make jam or cookies with it.
i know a guy who asks everyone he knows for their etrogs and makes a homemade liquor with it (and invites ppl over to drink it).
aspie guys save them and watch them dry out and save them. they look kind of cool and prehistoric.
any ideas? last yr i did the 'aspie guys' thing.

nothing in the rules prevents you from feeding it to your golden retriever.
tbf, people say that they're sprayed with all sorts of pesticides to make sure they look as good as possible (knowing that nobody is using them for food) and, as such, that it's not safe to eat them.
in iran, all the hotels had citron jam in little packages every morning. it was 180.
