Comet uses too much mana and doesn't hit that much stronger than the Cometshard. Comet Azur takes way too long to cast and uses too much mana.
When I'm exploring a new area I like those Glintstone knives that hover over your head because they will hit enemies you don't see coming and its usually strong enough to break their poise and then you can use Adula's Moonblade to really do some damage. |

I spent last night picking up bloodhound step (still getting used to it) and the hidden cerulean tear (I didn't know about that one until you mentioned it (I don't like it because it only lasts for 15 sec)).
I think tonight I'm going to get the great ghost glovewort to max out my black knife tiche ashes and try that instead of the mimic tear.
I got excited about the hidden cerulean tear until I realized it only lasted for 15 seconds so I'm going to go back to my go-to mixed physick which is reduced damage + increased resistances (makes you tanky as fuck).

What do you mean only 15 seconds?!?? That's a long time for no fp cost. Comet Azur channels and without it burns through your fp bar in like 2 seconds. You're getting like thousands of free fp worth of damage in those 15 seconds. If you're using other spells I can see what it's lackluster.
Tiche is a lot better than mimic. The bleed is so useful. She's practically soloing the boss. |

You can only get a couple hits of Adula off before she turns from your ashes to you. With Adula's Moonblade you have to make sure you aren't in mid swing when she comes after you. BHS allows you to keep ahead of her (you have to keep skating across the room because she follows you for a long time). Once she stops following you she will turn back to your spirit ashes and you can get to Part II.
I think the frostbite buildup might stick through the cut scene because once I skated out of the way and popped my defensive mixed physick, she melted pretty quick. IIRC, I finished her off by spamming Adula the one time. |
