It just does. Make sure you get your obsidian folder set up early and make it remember you have an obsidian vault. It might forget the first few times you fire up, like an outboard motor that needs a few yanks until she wakes up. Once it starts programming itself it gets smart and you barely have to say shit to it

Protip: if you think you might be creating vector databases on this bitch, give it tons of RAM and CPU cores. As much as you got. The tell it what resources it has, ie tell Hermes "I upgraded your RAM" don't just expect it to notice. It really needs 64gb of system RAM to be safe. I've seen it use over 50gb early on. Qdrant only requires 1 core and 1gb of RAM. You can run it on a raspberry pi and tell Hermes Agent where to find it, then Hermes Agent will immediately consume all your RAM and CPU cycles to create vector databases, if you think you might have a use for vector databases

This was yesterday. Now we are dealing with 15th century manuscripts while discussing information stored in vector databases it compiled this morning. It says Claude Opus but it was actually talking to Qwen3.5-27b. Look at that context window yo
