it apparently rejects all sorts of innocuous requests and routes them to Opus 4.8 instead. so it's expensive, not useful for many relevant workloads (if you are doing anything involving biology, you are fucked. but many other things as well), and if you try to use it for ML research it will subtly degrade the request rather than outright refusing so you won't even know you are getting shit code.

If you use the api it tells you and it you don't have to use fallback. It will just return an http 200 and tell you if it refused for cyber, bio, or frontier llm or reasoning extraction
