I'm just curious because I have never really been around a party scene in many years. What about smoking? Is that allowed in restaurants on St-Barth? Can you sneak away for a quick fag and just have the ocean breeze tassel your hair and exhale and feel a sense of complete contentment? I'm not afforded moments like those. I look for them, maybe I'll find one at the bottom of this 44-oz high-density polyethylene big gulp vessel filled with fizzy yellow "Do the Dew," but probably not.

This happened to a buddy of mine about 15 years ago. Very successful small businesses owner. His gf was a hot JAP who came from family money. Cute gal, nice personality, very bubbly. Could never be on time for anything. I think eventually they broke up.

what I left out about that first dive I went on after 5 years was that it was right after Hurricane Elsa. We dove out of Venice, FL, to specifically look for megalodon teeth because storms really churn up the water & make it easier to find them. However, it also means the conditions are pretty bad: zero visibility with very strong, unpredictable currents. Literally everyone was pulling sea urchin spines out. My hand was covered in blood because I grabbed what I thought was a rock when a big wave came through underwater, but it was actually a sea urchin. And then there was the coral... we were all skilled enough to largely avoid it, but everyone wound up getting nailed at least once. We all surfaced after about 15 minutes because the risk of damaging coral was too high.

that said, I'd give anything just to chill in some tropical reef at 30 feet for an afternoon.
