Nothing is getting passed over the next 2 years because Trump is POTUS. Many Americans will still chalk this up to Democrats being ineffective, particularly because Dems love to promise BIG CHANGES even if theres no path to accomplishing them.
Trump will act increasingly buffoonishly, and libs won't be able to help themselves from making TDS the focal point of the campaign. After four straight election cycles, and with Trump not on the ballot and the country not the Fourth Reich they said it'd be, this strategy will be ineffective.
Emboldened by 2026 and flowery polls, libs will launch woke 2.0. The primary will be hotly contested and the winner will have run very far to the left to win. This won't be able to be walked back.
The Dem candidate will be Newsom or some other candidate despised in purple states with decades of baggage. They'll try to walk back their woke shit but it'll just come off as insincere, chilling enthusiasm from progressive without capturing many votes from swing voters.
Vance will emerge from the primary relatively unscathed as he'll start with a huge lead and Rubio will drop out quickly. Some insane far-right dark horse will emerge as in third and hang around too long, and Vance will come out looking like a reasonable moderate.
There's also a solid chance Trump dies. If so Vance will win huge. Libs will not be able to resist celebrating, which like the Trump trials in 2024 will mortally outrage the middle and revitalize former trumpmos.
You heard it here first.

Possible, but I think you are overrating Vance's ability to consolidate support around himself and ignoring the absolute clusterfuck the Republican primary might be. There are like 5 or 6 Con factions at this point and a lot more at least semi popular figures in the party than what the Ds have. I could see 4 to 6 guys all having enough support to hang on deep into the Con primaries. Keep in mind it's not just about winning on the Con side, it's also about increasing your visibility and influence and turning that into $$$, there have been people playing that game in Republican presidential primaries for at least a decade and a half now. Remember Herman Cain? Rick Santorum kept going in 2012 long after his campaign was dead just because Foster Friess was willing to fund the whole thing. That kind of thing seems even easier to do now. One rich guy and a strong social media presence is enough for a real campaign now. Trump had both of those things to himself when he ran, but you don't have to be independently wealthy to have both of those things if one rich guy likes you.
Dems have 3 broad groups, DSA/race communism nuts, core libs, and what's left of the DLC dem/Clintonite/Obama establishment patchwork wing. The third wing pushed through Biden and Clinton, they probably won't be able to pull that trick again. I think they will try to consolidate around some dumpy HR lady type from the middle group (like in Michigan recently) but that person will lose to a charismatic and zesty gay race communist. The only question then is what comes out of the Con primary mess.

Fair, the core issue probably is how much influence Trump will have over the primary. But that's a different thing than kingmaking people in House races who will serve while you are going to continue to be president.
I think he will be able to explicitly move something like 20 percent of the primary electorate assuming he is alive/sentient, the question will be does the person he chooses have enough support independent of Trump's endorsement to get into the 30-40 range and win against the field (that was all Trump really had in 2016). If he gets strongly behind Vance, yeah Vance probably wins, but Vance is fully capable of fucking that up. If he doesn't? Open season, I don't see 40% of the primary electorate lining up to vote for the Toyota Dealer or Donald Trump Jr.
There's also the possibility that there will be some shiny new thing that people latch on to. 13 years is a long time to control a political party, seems like it is usually about the limit of time. Trump was a joke in 2014, somebody else could catch lightning in a bottle next year and carry it through the primary.

It's impossible to predict imo. The political process on both sides will be insane. It's a double civil war. I'm not knocking speculation but I don't personally have a clue what will unfold. There are too many unknowns.
Shapiro thinks JD is a lock. I think he's crazy. He also thinks JD should be more moderate and centrist than Trump. JD is smarter than Shapiro. He knows if you lose the Trump base you lose the ticket.
The problem Democrats have is that they actually are crazy and they want George McGovern. The party will be scrambling to prevent a radical.
I don't know how anything will play out but I will take the field over the favorites right now. Something totally unforeseen is going to happen. Especially on the right. It's going to be a personality. Someone big. Someone will step into the arena out of nowhere. They might not even know today it's going to be them. But it's not going to be anyone we've heard of right now.

One other thing related to this, I have a strong feeling that Trump will withhold his endorsement initially and watch the whole thing play out. The 2015/2016 primary era was probably the most fun he's ever had in his life. What better way to recreate that than making 10 or 12 people, maybe more, all spend half a year or more attempting to suck your cock for your endorsement.
There are multiple ways that could backfire, but despite that Trump won't endorse right off the bat to effectively consolidate power. He'll turn it into his own little puppet theatre show and offer analysis on the happenings of the primary right from the White House. It'll be funny as fuck and is probably "illegal" for some reason but nobody will do a thing about it other than some stupid crap in Congress and on CNN/MSNow.
All of this is to say that it'll be a long primary, a big audition to him. But people will be forced to make their own choices if that happens, and he might wait until it is too late for his endorsement to get someone over the top.

Trump will definitely 100% try and make it about Trump. Which is why I think this ultimately hurts Vance and Rubio. Harder to distinguish themselves. Meanwhile a James Fishback type can get on the horn and just start spouting. I'm not saying it's going to be James Fishback to be clear.
But it's going to be a warrior. A bold, unafraid warrior. You're not going to win the GOP nomination by being timid or moderate. You have to outtrump Trump to win. Fuentes pointed this out. You have to be a little psycho. No one wants a GOP candidate who is a Nice Guy. You have to say shit like grab em by the pussy. Which actually boosted him. You have to be nuts. You have to the fearless leader. If you don't get people's blood moving you have no shot.
JD fence sitting on Israel is gay. It's a fucking gay platform. To this end Rubio would actually crush him. Rubio can go say I fucking love Donald Trump and I wanted to bomb Iran and I still do. And Israel is the greatest country on Earth, lchaim. It may be a crazy unpopular and indefensible position but it's rock solid and unwavering. Vance is all over the place. He doesn't stand for zip. You can't win a GOP primary as a milquetoast empty suit. Period end of discussion. I will run and do better than Vance. I will spout every nutty opinion I've ever uttered on Zozo no matter how retarded wrong or misguided and people would say well I don't necessarily agree with him but he is AUTHENTIC. And you cannot win if you're not authentic.

You think so? I somehow doubt it. The people who resign typically go away forever. I'm thinking Gaetz, MTG, Massie (primaried). When you're out of office ur like a zombie it's over. But I have no idea.
Shapiro says the Tucker Vance coalition is 6% of the party. What does that make groypers like me and Zurich? I don't even know. More or less? I wonder about this every day.
It's funny, PBD asked Shapiro about whether Rubio would run against Vance. I think he will, but Shapiro gamed it out and said in most scenarios it's bad for Marco's political career. It made me think immediately of all the times you knocked the Dems for not running on principle nor understanding why anybody would. It was so slimey and kikeish the way he danced around all the scenarios without ever once talking about principles and ideology.
But this is my hot take. I think if Dems win in 28 everyone, and I mean absolutely everyone associated with Trump 47 is cooked for life. Absolutely cooked for good as a national figure. You remember Michael Anton's book calling 2016 the Flight 93 Election? That we were at a critical inflection point in history and it was all hands on deck? 2028 is the Flight 93 Election. Not necessarily for us. Not for the people. But for the political careers of Trump 47 affiliates. Because if they lose to the Dems, forget about it. No one will want to hear from them ever again. There will be no Long March like Trump in 2020. There will be no time in the desert getting more powerful. Vance and Rubio have one shot at this and if they don't land the plane, buh bye. It's over!

Absolutely. Trump has the bjggest praise kink of all time. Vivek (briefly) became a national figure out of nowhere purely from sucking his cock enthusiastically.
It's very likely the next two years will go very poorly for Trump and there will not be an Iran resolution. The candidates will have a real tough time weighing whether they its better to kiss the ring and inherit Trump's shit legacy but gain the MAGA boomers or roll the dice.
It's insane what a pivot role Trump has played in everything for a decade now. As much as I want to see him gone I know there will something missing after. Like graduating from HS kr something.

"Many Americans will still chalk this up to Democrats being ineffective, particularly because Dems love to promise BIG CHANGES even if theres no path to accomplishing them."
Didn't happen in 2018-2020 and Trump is even less popular now. Also didn't happen to the GOP in 2014-2016 and 2022-2024 or the dems in 2006-2008. The admin in power is almost always blamed for whatever problems there are. Here's my prediction: economy same as now=2020 narrow dem win; better economy than now=2024 GOP win; economy worse than now in 2028=2008 dem win.
