That article is talking about a possible coalition in the regional legislatures and governors (Ministerpräsidenten), not the Bundestag. Specifically in Sachsen-Anhalt und Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. No one doubted the AfD is a force in eastern Germany regional politics.
Nationally speaking, coalitions only matter if they add up to 50%. The BSW isn't even in the Bundestag since they didn't meet the 5% threshold. Even assuming they reach 5% next election, the AfD almost certainly won't get 45% of the vote. |
