If it’s someplace close by I usually give em 2-3 bucks
If it’s further away I might go up to 4-5
Am I doing it wrong

Doordash drivers get a fee from Doordash and the tip from the customer. The lowest fee from Doordash that a driver will get is $2. I don't like to go anywhere for less than $5 total, so I would say $3 should be a minimum tip.
For longer stuff I like to see at least a buck a mile.
With gas where it's been it would be a good idea to deviate a little upward from this.
It's harder to pick out what's fair for larger grocery/retail orders.
Also, if you're ordering late night (after a dining room is closed) you should add on a few bucks. It really sucks sitting in a slow ass drive thru line. I'm a night owl but I don't like working after the Taco Bell drive thru closes.
