Tucker Carlson Tells Republican Party, ‘I’m Out’
Published Jun 22, 2026 at 02:01 PM EDT
Tucker Carlson has broken with the Republican Party, declaring he will no longer support the GOP after decades as one of its most prominent defenders.
Carlson remains a major figure in conservative media, and his rejection of the party signals a deeper fracture inside the right as the Iran war and U.S.–Israel policy dominate internal debate.
His departure could influence voters who have long followed his commentary, potentially accelerating defections among Republicans already uneasy with the party’s foreign‑policy direction.
Carlson made the announcement during a June 18 appearance on the Can’t Be Censored podcast, saying the GOP has “betrayed” Americans by prioritizing the interests of a foreign government over its own citizens. “I would not support the Republican Party. There’s no chance I would support the Republican Party,” he said, adding, “I’m out.”
Why Carlson Says He’s Done With the GOP
Carlson argued that Republican leaders have placed loyalty to Israel above U.S. interests, accusing the party of backing President Donald Trump’s Iran war under pressure from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He said the conflict — which he described as a war the U.S. has “effectively lost already” — was the final proof that Washington had abandoned its own citizens.
He said in the podcast appearance: "How could I or any American voter support a political party that’s not loyal to the United States. That puts the interests of a foreign country above those of its own citizens. It’s not possible to vote for people like that, and I’m not going to."
Carlson also said that Trump’s 2024 campaign was funded by people with “loyalty to Israel,” forcing decisions he believes are not aligned with U.S. priorities.
Trump Has Dismissed the Idea that Israel Influenced His Iran Decisions
Trump has repeatedly dismissed the idea that Israel dictated his Iran strategy. In March, he said, “If anything, I might’ve forced Israel’s hand,” and earlier this month insisted Israel has “no choice” but to accept whatever deal he negotiates with Iran.
“I call the shots,” Trump told Financial Times. “[Netanyahu] doesn’t call the shots.”
A Dramatic Turn After Decades of GOP Loyalty
Carlson emphasized that he has voted Republican his “entire life” and defended the party for 35 years. But he said the GOP’s current posture is “immoral” and incompatible with what he believes the country needs.
His break follows months of escalating criticism of Trump over the Iran war — including suggesting the president could be the “antichrist” — and reflects a broader ideological realignment on the right.

Legitimately would love to see all of these "podcasters" just retire and ride off into the sunset. It's all such a gigantic jerkoff waste of time.
"I'm leaving the GOP, you guys!" Who gives a flying fuck.

literally everyone (including kikes I know IRL) who uses "podcasters" as a pejorative is just a jew completely failing to understand the moment they're in
"It's just PODCASTERS who are mad at us!"
no you kike parasite, everyone is mad at you. The podcasters are popular because they're speaking to the beliefs of everyone else.
you guys are BEGGING for it and it seems like nobody (including those who foolishly still care for you) can stop you from proceeding down this self-destructive path

Fucking lol. I am for sure not jewish and am probably to the right of you IRL.
My beef with the podcasters is that almost all of them stay within a safe lane that just seems edgy enough to give people a little dopamine. They basically just anesthetize people and serve as a new release valve. People listen to them and feel like they're "doing something" when all they're doing is listening to someone who is giving watered down versions of The Actual Truth.
Tucker saying safe, watered down versions of truths that most of us have known for over a decade while endlessly hawking a bunch of products to further enrich himself is not something I'm going to celebrate.
I have said much of this on XO before, but what the majority of podcasters do is provide oxygen to a system that would die without it.
Edit to add: the only "podcasters" worth anything were telling The Actual Truth a decade ago and have basically been banned into oblivion. And I don't mean Alex Jones or some bullshit.

I don't really love Stephan Molyneux's personality, but his PPT presentations back in 2014 - 2015 were infinitely more valuable than some nigga hawking a Zyn competitor and deflecting all energy away from actual solutions.
The Alternative Hypothesis (Ryan Faulke) was also incredible. Easily the most interesting ideas put out IMO.
Both of these guys were completely nuked. Fuentes is also great IMO. Sure, he's on Rumble, but he'd be worth 10x what he is now if he neutered himself.
Edit to add: all of the underlying problems have been well-understood for at least a decade. Unless someone like Tucker starts discussing race and IQ and the need to dismantle the Civil Rights Act (and using his platform to help make it happen), it's all just infotainment to sell product and anesthetize people. I just do not understand how anyone who is Aware can regularly consume this shit when it's all watered down. Fuentes is the only one who isn't and he's relegated to the ghetto of Rumble.
