Why did YouTube bury the History section? What dark pattern even is this?

Two clicks.
You>History and it has the most recent 5 already up.
This format took root maybe 10 years ago.

I definitely get random SHORTS pop up when I open the app even if I didn't click on them. I think they are trying to compete heavily with TikTok. They're definitely prioritizing SHORTS over longer videos.
I also know that Spotify intentionally made it harder to click on your own playlists on Desktop. This was because everyone was ignoring new music. Spotify is partially owned by all the major labels so they put pressure on Daniel Ek to make it harder to listen to old music.
They really want people to listen to new shit so they can recoup their investments and take that new revenue and invest in royalties from older catalogs. The new artists are a pump and dump scheme to turn over quick cash so they can bid up and trade around the Fleetwood Mac catalog. It is widely believed that older songs have more long term investment value than e.g. Post Malone.
