The armchair quarterbacks here are quick to dismiss the massive impacts to Iran and the people that have to live with it but are giddy up at any shit drone that hit a piece of eg Saudi infrastructure. Say what you will about the strategy, but the US military performed it's taskes nearly flawless. And I hope the few punches we took are taken to heart and rectified.

I'd also add, US special forces are leaps and bounds ahead of any adversary.

The problem was always that there was nothing there for us. Absolutely no outcome, no possible yield, that would make life better for TRUMP voters in their homes. Maybe it wasn't a 100% downside war, but 94-96%. Enough to *maybe* justify some cruise missiles, but if that one F-15 WSO had gotten captured and tortured, even that would greatly exceed any benefit from invading a country of disgusting smelly browns. For the goat-fuckers, survival was a "win", and by survival, I mean hundreds of thousands of dead civilians was fine (still a win). And you can't win a war when the two sides' objectives are so lopsided like that.

I think this was sort of Bibi’s last hurrah on behalf of Israel; they’re hemorrhaging support in America and the Overton window on them has dramatically shifted, so he probably thought “use them or lose them” and planned to cash in the rest of his chips to knock out Iran once and for all (at which point Israel would be reasonably secure in the region and could survive the upcoming US-Israel decoupling).
