Earnestness would be exposed too quickly; grandeur announced in its own name would be embarrassing. So reverence has to arrive smuggled inside desecration. The joke provides cover for the feeling. The poaster can say, in effect: Look at him. Look at the moment. Look at what we are capable of carrying. But because this is XO, what appears on the surface is:
