I sold my $1.4 million dollar house in Brooklyn to buy my wife 1.2 acres and a pool on Long Island for $2m. Property tax bill went from $8k to $30k. And here is the kicker — we spend most of the year in Florida. I’m literally burning money so she can have a pool all year. And when I’m in New York for work this house is too far away from the city so I just stay at my mom’s place 90% of the time. I hate this shit….

liberal artists like lolyers tend to think of stuff as whole things, including percentage points. if he got the math right he probably would have said "a little less than 5%." but a fraction of a percentage point, even though a percentage point is already a fraction, is strange and confusing to us. so it becomes "a little less than half of one percent" instead of "a little less than .5%"

How does anyone go higher than a few % if you’re both old and a wagecuck? White collar workers with fake jobs take like 3.875 years to find another job if they get randomly fired which is legal and nbd in 50 states btw. Job interviewers will smell the fear on you and pass. It happened to Gen X. It happened to an entire generation.

It's hard to calculate because my wife is a solo and her income fluctuates a lot. But my guess is that PITI is about 15-20% of our income. If you only count, ITI, then it is significantly less. I switched to a 15-year loan with a rock bottom rate during COVID, so my mortgage payment is almost entirely principal at this point.

The lack of self awareness from lawyers on this is so odd. “I aced OCI…. There’s a Fake System that I make money from damn it.”

And then they’ll use the fact that they get paid money as proof of worth when it’s literally the opposite. And every prole realizes this…

No mortgage so near zero. But what gets me is even if we have no mortgage, we have a ton of capital allocated to housing. If it wasn't so expensive, I could put a lot of money back into my business. Taking out some HELOC and paying interest on it isn't the answer either.

The fundamental problem is not the mortgage payment, it's the underlying cost.

It's truly remarkable that you can spend 8% of your income on housing without actually paying rent. Do you just live at the local gay bar and count your bar tab as your housing costs?
