central air is never 100% silent. it still makes a sound as cold air is propelled from the vent. this was silent, with no real force behind the air. like the fog from a fog machine, it just filled the room with coldness in silence. |

I have one in my house and it's amazing - it just keeps everything cool 24/7 at a constant temp. you don't have to touch the thing. A/Cs cycle so you'll have weird pockets of heat interjected with the frigid air |

I've done it for a few hot summers and it sucks, but is doable. Being able to navigate anywhere otoh is an absolute lifechanging technology, especially when you're young, moving around a lot, and still shrewing around experiencing life.
