My morning routine for years has been go to this place and get a coffee. They all know my name and order. So the other day I'm 2nd in line and there are somehow hundreds of bees all over the place, like yellowjacket hornets. Big nasty ones. They were on my windshield, at my windows etc. The truck at the window is swarmed with bees too. If I roll my window down to order my truck is gonna fill with bees. Fuck that. I sorta have a bee phobia cause when i was a kid i ate a hot dog with a bee on it and it stung the inside of my mouth. So when the truck ahead finishes I drive past the window, go to McDonalds and get an iced coffee.
Next day I go back to my regular place. No bees. Good. I pull up to the window, the baristas are dressed in bee costumes. They all laugh at me as she makes jokes like "be careful I might sting you!" And they were "flying" around making buzzing noises. she even made a joke that all drinks include honey now. I love a bit of banter myself but I feel disrespected and emasculated here and I don't think this is how you treat a loyal longtime customer. I'm looking into home espresso machines now.
