Baseball team basically gambled on my wife not backing off on a coach meeting and well that never goes well. She pulled the youngest and worse for the team she flipped from praise to shit talking. Fucking idiots. All she wanted was a meeting and the guy blew her off. I told him not the best move and he blew me off too. He thinks I'm one of the baseball bands living through his kids. Are the 8-10 year olds benefitting in any way from standing on a field and sitting on a bench for 2 hours while they get 2-3 at bats and maybe are involved in 2 defensive plays? Wouldn't that time be better spent getting reps?
The whole system is designed for overzealous baseball dads with big egos who don't care at all about the kids. At the higher level it's even more insane with people doting on children and scouting them as if any are actually going to play professionally. |

Those were costing me almost $5k a pop for both girls. They're still doing all of the ballet productions nutcracker etc just not thousands of dollars for a couple of minutes of stage time.
We took so much grief from other dance moms too. Like we're cheating our girls out of the experience. They hold grudges and us buying a new house is seen as taking away from money that should be spent on dance. Lol wow of they ever found out about my wife's rack. Fuck them. These people are nuts.
Btw my daughter didn't complain last Friday when she actually got to go to a highschool football game for the first time because she didn't have dance. |

Lol I actually ended up at the travel ball tryouts because little league season ended and it was crazy waiting an entire year before playing again. My kid still had a pink glove from his sister's failed attempt at baseball, but it was nice and broken in and he liked it. I was thinking the travel stuff was nice reps during the off-season to keep him ready for little league. It all went downhill from there.
For dance I thought it was just cute ballet classes. My daughter's started at 3. By the time they hit maybe 8-9 they asked if we wanted to join the dance team. Who says no to that?
My favorite kid sports moment was my son's last all star game as a major. Really fun run and we actually had people watching as fans, not just parents.
For dance I don't like the competitions but our studio is one of the few that does actual productions. My oldest was Clara and seeing all the hard work she did and mangled toes and all...I was very proud of her. |
