SAHM wife started making boiled chicken for dinner 1-2x per week

Date: September 2nd, 2026 6:12 PM Author: Nazca Redlines Wife is SAHM. Before a few months ago, I don't think she had ever cooked boiled chicken, other than as part of a soup or stew.
A few months ago, she started making boiled chicken with nothing else to it. Just boneless skinless chicken boiled in water. She then puts it on the table with a couple other things for dinner (e.g., salsa, guac, rice). No one eats much of it, so the rest goes in the fridge to be offered for the next couple meals. Rinse and repeat. Once in a while, she'll take the already-cooked boiled chicken and incorporate it into another dish, which will be OK, or at least not as bad.
What is going on here? |

If there is anything in the ballpark of that notion--someone being fat--it's that she wants the kids to get more lean protein in their diet. That's a good goal. Boiled chicken that no one eats is not the way to do it. |

Perhaps on days she doesn't go to the grocery store. Speaking of which, she goes to the grocery store at least 3-4 days per week and spend a least $75 each time.
