The lab evidence did establish that he had active cmv infection/viremia around the time he developed GBS. His serum test was positive, meaning cmv viral genetic material was detectable in his blood. The infectious disease specialist described the PCR level as somewhat low but still meaningful. The merits decision was originally filed in may, then reissued for public availability in september.
