Obviously he was manufactured (both by the Bill Ayers types as well as the media and the journolist frauds), but the timing (post-Iraq and GFC) plus the actual goodwill between the races that existed in the aughts really primed the population for someone like him.
In my more generous moments, I think that Obama went totally off the rails because of the underlying technology-related issues that started to unfurl during his second term. If we never progressed beyond Web 1.0, Obama may actually be center / center-left instead of the far leftist he was in Term 2. |
