Our friends are taking their kids to Disney for 1 day next month. They have a 7 year old and a 4 year old. The mom is looking forward to it, but the dad for a while tried just not to go. She has since read him the riot act about going and not lecturing everyone about how corporate and evil everything is.

He is still acting like the whole trip is this huge burden on him and he's the only intelligent person and everyone at the park is an idiot.

Disney adults without kids are weird, but it's also weird when well off adults act indignant about Disney. Your kids are only young once - just go on Space Mountain and let your daughter meet Elsa - and if you don't like it just don't go back.

I can get behind this. But at the same time "one trip" is the part of Disney adults that is still underwater on the iceberg. And the amount of money people willingly pay to Disney is absurd. Truly, absurd

I like Disney and it was 100% worth it for me to go when I lived 10 minutes away and had a season pass. Now, LJL at the idea of spending $7,000 for 4 nights/5 days. That same $7,000 will get a really nice luxury cruise for the same amount of time.

cr if you live that close, I bet it gets way cheaper because you can eat some food at home, sleep at home at the end of the night, etc

I was so close to epcot that I'd go there for an afternoon walk around the lake or maybe to catch the fireworks.

I thought you meant the people against Disney Adults. Parents who like taking their young children to Disney are not Disney Adults. True Disney Adults are childless in arrested development.

Similarly, people shrieking about “omgggg stinky weed smoke everywhere!” have recently become more insufferable than the grimy weed smokers themselves

Very strange that this man doesn't want to spend $7,000 for one day with overstimulated children and massive crowds

It's fucking insane that each Disney adult considers this obvious manipulating cash grab to be some rite of childhood

Being a killjoy is generally off-putting and obnoxious but adults that are obsessed with Disney are pathetic. I guess you could argue that it is better to be immature but happy than smart, mature and miserable but irl both are bad.

Plus they are starting to put adults-only age restrictions on the parks according to another recent thread. Evan39 posted about it
