agree with all of this, but
to be fair
an egg is an egg and has barrier that is fully exclusive of its environment. eggs really are about moral reasons only.
you could switch the eggs around and absent a dna test no one could tell which came from the good farm and which the bad

cr. chickens and animals in general is one of the few areas where I'm kind of a lib. cows and pigs I like to believe live chill fratty lives but the chicken processing factories are cruel and horrible.
driven through the eastern peninsula of VA a number of times and you see the huge Tyson and Perdue plants plus the bunkhouses, trailer parks, and shacks that the felons and illegals who work there live and it makes you kind of want to give up chicken altogether.
have no real idea how "cage free" the cage free eggs actually are but the FDA has a whole bureaucracy built around regulating this shit so hopefully it's not complete flame. either way, I go with the fancy eggs/chicken. doesn't move the needle much from a cost perspective.

i guess i can't speak for afreeka but poor americans subsist on taco bell mystery meat & frozen chicken nuggets. this isn't mexico with rural farmers with broken backs getting by on literal rice and beans. garbage meat is the american rice and beans.
egg prices would obviously not be the only thing to change.
btw why exactly do you think the population is shrinking, and what consequences do you observe that having in the political preferences of poor people in this country.

Why do I think the population is shrinking? In short, a combination of:
--Screens sapping the life out of people
--Life being too easy from a survival standpoint while being totally destructive from a soul standpoint
--Not cost of living itself, but mental tax of having to navigate a hellscape to raise a family
--Availability and cost of energy per capita relative to the past
I think cutting the factory farms would force a lot of other changes. Not looking to debate and am fine to just disagree.

i buy the ones from costco that are around $7 for two dozen. better than eggland's for less $.
the cheap "lucerne" eggs made me nauseated when i was a kid. the diet of the chickens must change the taste or something. i know the yolks look a lot different

Egg quality is 100% determined by the chicken’s diet.
The shitty $3 eggs are fine for baking. If you’re doing anything egg-forward—like sunny side up eggs, or custards/ice creams, the $6 eggs are what you want $3 is not much money for 12 eggs.
With that said, American eggs are fucking dogshit compared to Portuguese, French, or Japanese eggs. It’s because of the feed and breeds. I haven’t found a place that can match the quality of Portuguese eggs in NYC at any price. (Nor in the Hudson Valley/New England). But I would love to be corrected about this by any egg mastermen in this thread.
