I don't believe any of that, but I believe it is at least plausible that the top-level elites in government and commerce discuss and mediate on the viability of a mass-scale extinction event, possibly brought about by an engineered virus to depopulate the earth while genetically engineering their selves and their brethren as surviving "super-humans".

really, if you think about it, this is the only way that things could possibly play out given a long enough timeline.
