Date: August 6th, 2026 7:53 PM Author: motley sticky indian lodge I recently watched a historical video recently, it was about the treatment of WWII Japanese POWs when they got to America. I recognized pretty quickly that the narrator was AI but I kept watching because it seemed interesting.
One of the most interesting claims of this video was that supposedly when the Japs arrived in Wisconsin, there was an incident when they were served their first meal. The food was so good that it actually concerned them. Supposedly they thought that being served things like white rice was actually some sort of gesture of deep respect. The rumor mill got going that this was actually their last meal and they were all about to be executed. So they were all losing their shit until someone translated that they were gonna be fine.
This doesn't make a whole lot of sense though? Why the fuck would we transport them all the way to Wisconsin just to execute them? Also, we didn't give them okay rations in the long-ass time it took to get to Wisconsin?
And I can't find a non-slop source for this. I did some brief Googling, all the results were slop. I asked Gemini, it said "There is no historical record or documentation of an incident at Camp McCoy where Japanese prisoners of war were alarmed that a meal, or being served rice, meant they were about to be executed."
So, I watched a longish video that probably had a lot of complete bullshit.
Youtube as we knew it is gone. They are going to be flooded with garbage into perpetuity. |

Also I assume we didn't, uh, accept their surrender quite as often as we did in the European theater.
I think we only had like 5k Japs in total. We took them to movie theaters & shit. |
