Date: September 12th, 2026 5:35 PM Author: which is what makes time travel possible we’re seeing old-school psychometric HBD stuff come into play here. jews instinctively think of the universe as digital and made of rules and symbols, chinese think of it as analog and flowing and not inherently describable. the latter view happens to be correct and this surely factors into why the chinese don’t believe LLMs are poised to take over the real world “any second now” or that they’re conscious.
it’s not just because they don’t have the valuation-driven western hype cycle, chinese contempt for wordcels is deeply engrained and the process philosophy of Alfred North Whitehead is very popular there.
of course, there should be slightly more acknowledgment that while the real world looks nothing like a gigantic Go board the internet looks exactly like one and it would be bad if there were some kind of uncontrolled outbreak that disabled the internet. |
