Very nice. If you ever have the opportunity to see Evensong at an Anglican cathedrals, I recommend doing so.

once you get close to 12k in the sierra, the landscape is completely desolate, brother. the views are great, but it's all rocks and not much else. you don't see many animal doods just chillin, and there are no trees at all. around 10-11k is the sweet spot. you see a distinct change in the types of trees and vegetation, but it's green and full of wildflowers and cool trees and a lot of flowing water and marmots and other d00ds.

A few are memorable but most lose their luster or seem trite immediately. Any sense of spirituality I get is always fleeting and I compulsively start chalking it up to emotional reaction to raw and intense sensory experience.

1) Wailing Wall/Temple Mount Jerusalem

2) Scuba Diving Tayrona National Park in Columbia

3) San Juan Islands, WA watching Orca whales fuck with Seals they were about to kill and eat

4) Mid Winter Grand Teton National Park

5) theres a weird Portal in a river bed in Big Sur by Esalon dont know how to desscribe but place tripped me tjhe fuck out, entered a wormhole to a differnet timeline some other people have said same thing was sober too

Hon Mention: Hiking deep in Haleakala Crater in Maui, theres a few spots that have negative decibel sound so its more quiet than pure silence very weird but cr energy felt like Gods throne

I haven't been to my hometown (or even home state) in almost 7 years. I wonder if will be there now.

Previously, it was approaching asisi on foot. I hiked all the way from perugia, which is a pretty typical st. Francis pilgrimage. (He fought in some losing battle there and had his first ecstatic experiences wandering alone on the way back.) The fatigue and strangeness of stumbling through people's vineyards etc. (no map or gps, just a vague sense of a direction) definitely contributed to the religious feeling of finally seeing the mountaintop city rise in the distance.
