Trough is especially popular among college students who enjoy the low monthly price and struggle to afford traditional restaurants, but the service isn't without critics.
"I had to have onion soup and boiled potatoes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner," said Jessica Everts, 21. "They wouldn't even bring me anything else, and there were no refunds," she added.
Others received containers of uncooked rice, raw cornmeal, and even sour milk. Trough had no comment.

I always wondered why human food (like dog or cat food) did not take off or at least be available. There have been some vaguely similar ideas

But they are for malnutrition. Why can’t we have human kibble. Get some tech bros and fitness people to start eating it.

Right, but I don’t know why there’s not some sort of “human food complete” that has everything you need to survive and thrive you can eat like dry cat or dog food. The cooking time and storage on the stew is the rub. If the human food was fully nutritional it could be a substitute for meals (like the diets that had “shakes” replacing meals) if not a full diet. And boredom in eating would probably be good for those looking to lose weight.
Yes, you can get MREs or similar, but why not just one food. Surely someone has tried this at some point.
