this is the same kind of cope we saw in 2017 about hillary not being in prison. just wait, you can't stop what's coming, etc. sure thing, kiddo.

i don't see why we even need to bomb them. all you need to do is destabilize the cartels and create chaos. what do you think would happen if say the sinaloa cartel was given extensive signal intercepts, satellite and drone surveillance intel on CJNG activities and the locations of their leaders and their families?

the point isn't to pick a winning cartel (which would only ultimately increase drug flow). it's to increase long term violence and instability in the cartels. at a certain point, someone else would be fed information about rival cartels. it would greatly increase their costs of doing business and reduce organization levels.

this doesn't have to be done in way that's transparent to observers in the same way that dropping bombs on cartel leaders would be. we aren't going to be bombing mexico.

someone would squeal. there are probably 20 agencies involved in this, not to mention mexican counterparts that are in bed with the cartels themselves. this is entirely untenable political suicide and even worse than dropping bombs, which i agree isn't feasible.

Lib here. Fucking up the Mexican cartels is the one thing he could do that I would agree with. Don’t know why he doesn’t act. Maybe because there’s no money in it, or he’s waiting for a payoff from the cartels so he doesn’t fuck them up? Idk. It’s weird though. Seems like a no-brainer policy that would have wide support.

because it would cause total chaos in mexico. their government has been complicit for decades. they are intertwined at the highest levels and the cartels will not go down quietly. it would be a war for the soul of mexico and a shocking amount of them trust the cartels more than the government. and as soon as we bomb some kid selling candy we'd lose the whole country and a ton of mexicans stateside would riot in the streets.

also it could easily turn into a straight up guerilla war and you'd see some insane shit in el paso, san diego, etc. on a regular basis. i don't know if they're as ruthless as the jihadmos, but they're real close. their only play against our military is american deaths, which to their credit they have almost completely avoided up to this point. but they've killed plenty of bystanders in mexico just to prove a point. throwing grenades into bars, gunning down weddings, beaches, children, pretty much whatever they want. now imagine it's a texas roadhouse.

it would be a lot easier to legalize drugs and turn the market over to american companies that are taxed to the hilt, but that's just too much freedom and individual liberty for us to handle.

Why would Trump care about any of that? They’re Mexicans and he hates Mexicans.

yeah it's fucked. everything we do has to be done stateside. he should chock the border with the national guard, none of these fuckers should be allowed in. and then instate sanctions and cut visas for rich mexicans, make them feel the pain, that's the only way this'll ever change.

I doubt the cartels could operate as a guerilla insurgency in the US. I think they have zero base of support in the US among local populations.

Cartels will soon figure out they just have to buy Trump off and he’ll let them do they want, much like the AI industry did
