EXCLUSIVE: German Politician Under Government Investigation After Legal Complaint From Pro-Pedophile ‘MAP’ Activist, Faces Up to Two Years in Prison

A German politician who represents the right-wing Alternative for Germany (AfD) is being investigated by the state for incitement to hatred, defamation, and dissemination of personal data after a pro-pedophile activist filed a criminal complaint against her for social media posts denouncing “LGBTQ propaganda” and pro-pedophile activism. One activist who reported Vanessa Behrendt to police over her social media posts runs an online support group for “minor-attracted people,” or MAPs, and campaigns for pedophilia to be legally recognized as a protected characteristic.

In October 2024, Behrendt, the AfD’s family policy spokesperson, published a controversial opinion to her official X account, which has since racked up over 1 million views.

“The rainbow flag stands for: The machinations of pedophile lobby groups, the endangerment of children through LGBTQ propaganda, the harassment of toddlers with transsexuality, the legal ‘cuddling’ and ‘wrestling’ of foreign men with kindergarten children (‘Original Play’), and the treatment of gender identity disorders with puberty blockers, hormone therapies, and transgender surgeries,” Behrendt wrote. She followed her message with an image of the German flag, stating that its colors represented the country, while the Pride flag, she said, did not.

Her comments drew significant backlash, and are included in criminal complaints that have been filed against her. The investigation, which is ongoing, was confirmed by Behrendt in a March 2025 post that has remained as her pinned post on her X account.

“Because I have expressed critical views on rainbow ideology, the Göttingen Public Prosecutor’s Office is now investigating me,” Behrendt announced last year.

But among accusations of incitement to hatred for comparing the Pride flag to “the machinations of pedophile lobby groups,” the politician is also facing charges related to the dissemination of an individual’s name and address, a crime which is punishable by up to two years’ imprisonment.

This charge was lodged against Behrendt by a pro-pedophile MAP activist who had been sharing his information on various pedophile activism forums and websites. Florian Viets, who was identified by Behrendt, is a 39-year-old man who uses an avatar of a young girl waving a ‘MAP’ flag on social media. Under the moniker ‘Consuela,’ he operates several websites and forums dedicated to pedophilia activism.

Viets has stated that he is sexually attracted to girls aged “0 to 12.”

In a now-deleted post made by Behrendt to X on February 11, 2025, she wrote: “This pedophile with the angelic face has, according to his own statements, filed a complaint against me because I am so evil and incite hatred against pedophiles. Florian Viets from Norderstedt. Perhaps someone would like to inform him what one thinks of his demands.”

One forum run by Viets, mapsupport.de, is hosted by Mastodon and currently has over 300 participants. “We are a safe space for queer people and paraphilias,” reads the group’s description. “We welcome every sexual minority, transidentity, kink, fetish, radqueer, or anything else.”

According to information publicly posted on mapsupport.de, the forum is owned and operated by Florian Viets of Hamburg, Germany.

Child safeguarding advocates who monitor MAP activism taking place on Mastodon’s decentralized servers have told Reduxx that Viets decided to go public in 2024 by posting selfies and even creating videos of himself that he uploaded to YouTube – which have now been deleted. Therefore, his own public posts would have served as a primary source of information for Behrendt’s claims which are being considered as “defamation.”

One source, who chose to remain anonymous, provided Reduxx with a photo of Viets taken by himself at Rathaus Norderstedt (City Hall of Norderstedt). In the photo, Viets is proudly wearing a T-shirt featuring a depiction of the “pedobear,” which originated as a meme on 4chan to mock those who expressed a sexual interest in children. Over time, however, the symbol has been adopted by some members of the MAP community as a means of self-expression.

Viets has repeatedly boasted online of filing two reports against Behrendt, both on his blog and on Mastodon. In June of last year in a post he made to a MAP support community announcing his criminal complaints.

“In November, December, and January a female politician of the far-right political party AfD used Twitter to spew hate speech against me and other German MAPs by calling us child molesters. I went to the police and pressed charges against her,” Viets wrote.

“In February [2025] she decided to make the worst mistake of her life. She made a Twitter post, posting my data she stole from somewhere and called for violence against me (I had 152 people posting death threats). I filed more charges.”

According to Viets’ MAP activism blog, Behrendt became aware of one of Viets’ pro-pedophile websites, wir-sind-auch-menschen.de, and filed a criminal complaint against the site operators.

The complaint was dismissed, and Behrendt took to X to denounce the website, stating that she intended to make a “declaration of war against all those who believe they can make pedophilia socially acceptable.”

The website’s name translates to “We are also human,” and denounces the “stigma of pedophilia”. While the site does not explicitly advocate for adult-minor sexual contact, it does argue for the decriminalization of “materials where no children are harmed,” including AI-generated child pornography, as well as “drawings, animations, or fictional stories,” and the sale of sex dolls made in the likeness of children. Currently, Section 184l of the German criminal code prohibits the sale, acquisition, and possession of “sex dolls with a childlike appearance.”

“The social condemnation of sexual acts with children must not extend to materials where no children are harmed. A pedophilic inclination cannot be changed, therefore pedophiles must find a way to deal with it – ideally one that respects the rights of others and is also healthy for themselves. It is important that pedophiles have access to such options and that not every option is criminalized,” the website states.

Additionally, Viets’ political advocacy site calls for recognizing pedophilia as a protected characteristic.

“The General Equal Treatment Act (AGG) protects people from discrimination based on their sexual identity. However, although undoubtedly a part of sexual identity, pedophilia is not considered to be included,” Viets writes. “The justification given is that, unlike other sexual identities, pedophilia is a crime when acted upon. In our opinion, however, this is not a valid argument, as sexual identity is not about actions, but about who someone is and how they feel. A sexual orientation alone does not make anyone a danger.”

In a blog post made by Viets in January 2025, he informed his supporters that he had made criminal complaints against Behrendt on allegations of defamation, false accusations, falsely reporting a crime, and incitement to hatred.

“We live in a society and time that is now characterized by hatred and incitement by right-wing populist parties such as the AfD and their politicians, who constantly sow and spread hatred and incitement against people because of their origin, skin color, sexual orientation, gender, disability and other characteristics, and think they can get away with it because of their political status,” Viets wrote.

“In a democratic society, freedom of expression is an important right; however, this excludes hatred, incitement, and false claims,” he continued. “No one should have to tolerate being publicly defamed to a significant degree by others because of who or what they are. This is extremely damaging to the reputation of all those affected, especially those who have been working for many years to educate the public about pedophilia. Ms. Behrendt will now also experience that freedom of expression has its limits where it causes enormous harm to others. The complaint, along with all evidence, will be submitted to the public prosecutor’s office today and will hopefully lead to a swift trial and conviction, while also demonstrating that no one has to tolerate hatred and incitement.”

Earlier this month, the Göttingen public prosecutor’s office filed charges against Behrendt for “inflammatory online posts,” with the court now weighing whether she may be guilty of defamation.

According to NDR (North German Broadcasting), judges are considering prosecuting Behrendt for defamation in four out of seven reported cases, while in one case, “there is also sufficient suspicion of a crime involving the dangerous dissemination of personal data.”

On his personal blog, Viets shared the news with his supporters while again boasting that the situation faced by Behrendt “concerns two complaints filed by me.”

“Through a campaign lasting over three months, she publicly labeled the website operators and other members of the site as “child abusers” on her social media channels. She also reported the website to the state parliament, which responded and even filed a criminal complaint, knowing full well that no crime had been committed,” Viets said.

“When all of this proved unsuccessful, Ms. Behrendt continued her hate speech in various hate media outlets, such as Apollo News, Kelle News, Nius, and Hallo Meinung, among others, in the form of news articles and videos. I am refraining from providing links, as I do not wish to offer such ideologies a platform. Ultimately, I felt compelled to report these crimes.”

Behrendt has expressed her intention to oppose the charges against her. The matter will go to trial, according to NDR, at the Helmstedt District Court.

“In the tweets in question, I formulated my political criticism clearly and pointedly,” Behrendt stated. “I neither called for violence nor announced any specific criminal offenses. I stand by my posts and consider them protected by freedom of expression. In a democracy, sharp, provocative criticism must also be possible.”

For his part, Viets has repeatedly indicated that he would like to see the full force of the law used against critics of pro-pedophilia activism.

“I would like to see more people, especially those on social media, but also media professionals and politicians, pay attention to what they write and stop using the word ‘pedophilia’ or ‘pedophiles’ in a negative context, with criminal offenses for their choice of words – thereby stigmatizing hundreds of thousands of people in a marginalized group, some of whom, like me, have been fighting for years for our right to a life without discrimination,” he wrote to his blog in March 2025.

Member of the German Parliament, the Bundestag, and AfD colleague Götz Frömming responded to Behrendt‘s post on X regarding the charges against her by noting that the city of Göttingen, where the Central Office for Combating Hate Crime on the Internet is located, has a played a role in the disturbing history pro-pedophilia advocacy in Germany. Reports released by Hildesheim University in 2020 and 2024 named Göttingen, and specifically the University of Göttingen’s Pädagogisches Seminar, as an early intellectual and social hub for academic theories of “emancipatory pedagogy”.

These academic origins, or Ursprungsknotenpunkt according to the reports, would ultimately provide a foundation for a decades-long government-funded project which saw foster children rehomed with pedophiles.

While emancipatory pedagogy originated in the 1960’s as a framework for democratic education and social work, it was expanded upon by pro-pedophile academics who argued that children must be liberated from adult authority, and advocated favorably for adult-child sexual relationships under the guise of liberating the sexuality of minors, which gave rise to concepts of “emancipatory sexual education”.

The notorious Kentler Experiment was a state-sponsored program in West Berlin that systematically placed vulnerable, homeless, or institutionalized children, who were primarily young boys, into the foster care of men known to be active pedophiles. It was named after sexologist, psychologist, and professor of social education at the University of Hanover, Helmut Kentler. With the approval and assistance of the Berlin Senate, at-risk youth were rehomed with self-identified pedophiles beginning in 1969.

Official child welfare agencies in West Berlin actively approved, arranged, and funded the placements. Foster “fathers” received regular, tax-funded maintenance payments and child allowances from the state for housing the boys.

Investigations by University of Hildesheim researchers established that state-approved foster care placements of young boys with pedophilic men continued until approximately 2001. The reports name Klaus Mollenhauer, one of post-war West Germany’s most influential educational theorists, as a close collaborator and personal friend of Helmut Kentler. Mollenhauer completed his doctorate at the Pädagogisches Seminar Göttingen and was a leading architect of “emancipatory pedagogy” (Kritische Pädagogik).

Another leading figure involved in promoting “emancipatory sexual education” and pedophilic relations between adults and minors recently served on the Board of Directors for a “queer” organization promoting the medical transitioning of young children. As recently as 2024, Rüdiger Lautmann was listed as a Secretary for the Berlin chapter of working group SPDqueer, which has advocated for children to be permitted to initiate a “gender change” from the age of seven years old without parental consent.

Lautmann was also involved in a 1979 motion calling for the deletion of Section 176 of the German legal code, which would have effectively eliminated the age of consent. Throughout his career, Lautmann maintained a close relationship with the pro-pedophile sexologist Helmut Kentler.
