I find it very hard to believe that no one has endeavored to study this in more detail. I seem to recall a study where they followed men with hiv+ partners (before they had drugs that easily treated hiv and made it untransmittable) who only had oral and they discovered that the rate was 0%, but then they concluded there was something wrong with the study and memory holed it, so I have no idea.
Edit: the other thing that is interesting is that whole origin story of hiv turned out to be lie (i.e., that it was caused by a promiscuous flight attendant or whatever). It turns out that it existed in the US for decades prior but never actually did anything. |
