I copped 10k for me and 10k for wife a few years ago when the variable rate was 9% or something. Not sure what the fixed rate was back then. Date: October 20th, 2026 5:33 PM Author: Irradiated Forum Boistinker According to this chart, the fixed rate I have is probably less than 1% and "fixed": https://image.cnbcfm.com/api/v1/image/108055644-1730387315647-D8z0D-i-bond-rates-since-1998_3.png?v=1730387341 (http://www.autoadmit.com/thread.php?thread_id=5914196&forum_id=2#50198732) |

Why don't you just keep everything in VOO and stop sweating this stuff? |
|
Date: October 20th, 2026 6:47 PM Author: animeboi (.) Because VOO can lose money while i-bonds can't and the tax deferral is really nice. If you're near/at retirement I wouldn't be 100% VOO. (http://www.autoadmit.com/thread.php?thread_id=5914196&forum_id=2#50198844) |
