What I think many people didn't really understand about Operation Midnight Hammer:
US pilots took off from the US toward Iran, nearly 12,000 kilometers one way. Then, after flying there in one go, they accurately bombed targets that were perhaps 2-3 square meters in size, or even smaller, turned around, and then flew back the same way.
From takeoff to landing, it didn't land once. And it delivered almost its entire weapons load accurately to its target.
What the hell are you going to do militarily against a country that can do THAT? Especially North Korea, Iran, etc.? They'll just brush you off if you get too annoying. Effortlessly.
Midnight Hammer was not only necessary to eliminate the Iranian nuclear threat before it even became a nuclear threat, but also a PR masterpiece. Look what we can do. We are and will remain the most militarily powerful force on the goddamn planet.
And that may have been one of the main reasons for Trump's decision to attack. Putin, Xi, and that fat little North Korean now have a lot to think about. Putin won't be able to get Ukraine under control in three or more years of "lightning operations." The US patiently puts up with all sorts of things, but when they finally intervene, things get really bad. And this little reminder might do some people some good. At least that might have been the thinking.

Heh, looks like the stupid Americans aren't even smart enough to fly in a straight line between two points
So much for their "dominant capabilities" huh
