i love to hate comment on insta when i think someone is annoying or stupid or exploiting someone vulnerable for views. it's never punching down and it's never out of malice - always just a twisted, autistic sense of virtue.
recently this influencer type came up on my feed being very selfish in a specific situation, and they didn't seem to realize that they were in the wrong. i typed up this passive aggressive comment about how *i* would have been *so* embarrassed and apologetic in their place. before posting i went on their profile and saw that they live here in L.A. and some of my friends follow them and thought about how i might not want to leave a mean comment in case any of them was irl friends with them, but i left it anyways. they didn't reply or anything. tonight i ran into a friend and she introduced me to that person. the bar closed 2 sec later so nothing else happened, but i did go home and delete the comment. it had a lot of likes bc i was right.

used to troll artist-types on substack about ai all the time, but they would just block me so that I couldn't argue back anymore but they can still comment whatever they want on what I write. I need to get another substack, but I just argue with people all day and people get mad and try to stalk and doxx me and its a huge timesink

Just say it wasn't you and casually move the conversation onward to new topics. If it gets brought up again (and each time it is brought up), just do the same
