Remember that we're dealing with a political party that gaslit the country for years about Joe Biden's mental decline. And when Fetterman had a massive stroke in the middle of his senate campaign, the party went into overdrive to hide the severity of it, dragging in doctors to publicly proclaim he was fine, and eviscerated even liberal journalists for daring to ask questions about Fetterman's health.
What I find intriguing about the Talarico disappearance is that one would think even if shut up at home with the flu, a senatorial candidate would still keep some kind of activity remotely. Video calls with his staffers and donors, a short clip to show at campaign events apologizing for the flu and looking forward to getting back on the trail in a few days and keeping the momentum going. A flat out disappearance and total silence is unusual no matter how you spin it. Even when HRC had her infamous flu episode in 2016, she was back on the campaign trail in two days.
I'd rather have Talarico than Paxton, a genuine slimeball, but the more defensive the usual Democratic suspects become about the disappearance, the more you suspect there really was some kind of situation.
