That India attacked at all is a big deal. Some context:

- Through the 80s and 90s, Pakistan waged a brutal terror campaign in Kashmir and Punjab. Pakistan financed, fed, lodged, armed, and mobilized these terrorists to commit heinous crimes. I am talking about raping daughters and wives infront of fathers and sons then murdering them by chopping them up etc. No retaliation from India towards Pakistan. It took till about end of the 80s for Punjab to stabilize and end of 90s for Kashmir. Kashmir even today is a heavily militarized zone. India spends a lot of money to hold on to this place.

- Starting about the 90s, Pakistan also financed and pulled off major terror attacks across India. 1993 in Mumbai. Then again in 2008 where a Jewish Chabad House was also attacked and the Rabbi and his wife killed. But there were many others small attacks all over. No retaliation from India.

- In 1999 or so, Pakistani mercenaries (in reality Pakistan soldiers) very quietly took up positions in Indian territory in the Kashmiri mountains. When India found out, it conducted military operations to dislodge these positions. But even here, India made sure that its fighter jets never crossed into Pakistan. India did what it needed to get rid of these Pakis but once again it never retaliated into Pakistan.

- Modi elected in 2014.

- In 2019, Pakistan sent terrorists to attack a military garrison in India. They did considerable damage and many soldiers were killed. India, under Modi, retaliated(ish) for the first time ever. Indian fighters jets crossed into Pakistan for the first time ever in a non-war time situation. But it was terribly executed. They ended up hitting a bunch of trees. Once Indian pilot was captured and was paraded drinking tea on Pakistani television.

For everything you have read until now, you need to get one thing - ordinary Pakistani civilians were never affected. They saw 0 repercussions for what their army was up to. They paid 0 cost for the adventurism that Pakistani military and intelligence was pulling off in India.

Cut to last week - this was the first time, that India hit deep inside Pakistan in a non-war time operation (last war being in 1971). This was the first time we saw Pakistani terror camps being attacked and also civilian casualties. This is actually groundbreaking. This has not happened before.

So I get that Pakis and Chinks and perhaps even some birdshits are guffawing at India's loss of some fighter jets. But that's because you don't understand how pathetic Indians are to begin with. Your baseline is of a normal self-respecting nation that retaliates when attacked. You need to recalibrate that view. That India retaliated at all is a big fucking deal.
