Date: September 10th, 2026 1:30 PM Author: wokking the linen (definite and ineradicable gauge of its upward moving) Housing is super localized of course, so generalities are difficult, but this seems like it takes a big bite out of all the real estate mos that run around bitching about how we need more supply, more supply, more supply. The only people that make money off of real estate are running some kind of scam. Maybe its a scam getting permits and collecting kickbacks. Or maybe it's on the mortgage side. Or building with subpar materials and charging super premiums for luxury finishes. Or maybe it's just running a flat out scam where you make yourself out to be a successful real estate investor but all you are is the owner of a YouTube channel designed to self-promote. It turns out that real estate is and always was a YUGE scam. |

Date: September 10th, 2026 1:58 PM Author: me mum died in the holly (TT6) We need more supply, but we also need a non-govt market. All these 3% and 4% govt subsidized mortgages is the problem. Sellers dont want to sell as then they will get a market rate on their next purchase which will raise their costs 20% all else being equal.
But at least the govt helped those who have assets at the expense of those without. #democracy |
