the joke is referring to different egg styles, like "benedict" (or "neptune", etc.) where benedict actually is USED as a style adjective. no one says "egg benedicts". this type of usage tends to be associated with "fancier" restaurants (or at least places fancier than fast food joints). so he's attempting to use an elevated diction, but failing 1. not only grammatically but 2. using said diction on prole fast food. |
