i don't "believe in" orthogonality but you don't have to think that the orthogonality thesis is real to recognize and understand that almost all of what we value about human existence and about ourselves as human is idiosyncratic and non-competitive and would/will be completely destroyed unless it is deliberately fostered and preserved |
