Don't Stop Believing peaked at #9 initially. Then 20 years later its on Scrubs, Sopranos and Glee and it becomes literally the most downloaded song of all time.

Mr Brightside peaked at #10. Then 10-15 years later sports teams started playing it, and now its the closing song for half of all weddings.

Are these just two great songs?

Or could the Philadelphia Eagle's adopt Sugar Ray's "Fly" as their official song, win the Super Bowl, and all of the sudden people would be belting out Fly to close out every bar night?

Could you make Uncle Kracker singing Follow Me an anthem for guys to sing on bachelor parties?

No, I do think it depends on the song. Scrubs also featured the massively underrated The Book of Love in a sappy scene during the finale, as I recall, but it's still an obscure song to this day.
