Movies you liked more than the book?

Maybe American Psycho (the book is better, funnier, and more brutal, strictly speaking, but it IS a slog and even if that's sort of the point it just gets draining after a while)
The Invisible Man (the horror story) as a book is more of an anti-vivisectionist tract than anything else; the 1933 movie has a ton of personality and is still effective |

Fight Club is way better
There are a bunch where you just know that the movie is better but I never read the book (e.g. Jaws, Psycho, Godfather, Silence of the Lambs)

there was only a couple true adaptations though (mostly early connery). the rest just took the novel names. |

Admittedly though, I'm not a fan of bales portrayal so I put the book over the movie on this one. |
