They cause devs they own to become very unproductive and shitty somehow. I’ve been waiting 20+ years for Rare to make a good game. It would’ve been such good marketing btw to buy the fuckin’ James Bond license and make Rare do it (even though it’s all different people now and shit).
As for AI, it should be in use in behind the scenes Engineering, but the problem is that for now it excels more at art, not Engineering. Since the limpenproletariat lack Engineering awareness, they would be perfectly OK with unseen AI imo. |

People can tell when something isn’t genuine and they resent having something perceived as uniquely human and “meaningful” outsourced to an algorithm (however illusory that perception may be).
