msrps are astronomical and difficult to get one without an ADM on top of that
what used to be an enthusiast's car is now full of status seeking nouveau riche checking a box and/or those buying these for the resale value
a lightly equipped 911 is pushing 200k
it's basically a car for rich douchebags like all the dorks we went to law school with who became partners. it's the uninspired, desperate, boring person with access choice

Is this opposed to the era where it was a prudent financial choice? lmao

It's been like that since before Covid
Did they stop taking orders for a custom build at msrp?
That would be bizarre because their entire business model is oriented around deep customization and there are over a hundred thousand configurations for a single model
Only weirdos who are desperate to buy one that same day and don't care about the options pay the ADM (typically foreigners on visa who only pay cash for stuff that's available immediately)

i really liked 911s until i went into a rich condo building and saw like 20 of them in the garage and realized it was just a fancy volkswagen. they're beautiful but the criticism is fair, they're a basic bitch car for umc 45 year old white guys.
similar experience with g wagons in london.
also in london there's this alley/covered market with every fancy watch you can imagine on display, like thousands of them, dozens of each version right next to each other, and it totally killed it for me. there's a lot of value in rarity.

i think the hump ass looks good, but i am not a porsche fan
hate to agree with paramo, but 911s are a boring choice for a sports car
i tried to persuade cslg to go a different route, but he went 911
he used to have a very cool rolls royce from a client. still have that, cslg?

how about showing poor character? can purchases show this? what if you demonstrate good character by working extra and sacrificing in order to help your widowed sister and children obtain a better quality of life by buying them a home? doesn't that act reflect good character? what does "purchase" mean, limited to retail goods, are you more narrowly thinking of expensive shit, designer products and labels?
moreover, who is attempting to demonstrate anything about their character by buying a 911?

i think OP is just saying they're dumb to buy used. your car sounds awesome. they all still drive great imo!
the community can just be annoying sometimes bc it's a bunch of rich dweebs saying "rate my spec - did i pick the right color of deviated stitching?"
and the prices on new ones has just gone up like crazy last few years. sometimes they can still appreciate! but i'm not playing that speculation game, i like the older ones
